Replacing Our Tiny Home Window

Updated April 2026 - Window seals do not last forever, especially after a 1000-mile haul. In our Sarasota tiny home, we noticed the issue after years of Florida heat and humidity. If your windows are fogging up between the panes, this post is for you.

TL;DR: Tim replaced the two back windows on Tiffany the Tiny Home after the argon gas seals failed. The job took about an hour, required no special tools, and the fix was straightforward. Here is exactly how to do it.Always thought the two back windows had some weird temperature thing going on since they had condensation always. Ended up finding out that the Argon gas in the windows actually was broken. The manufacturer said it was probably caused by the 1000 miles on Tiffany. One thing I learned from this repair: the argon gas in double-pane windows can leak at the seal, especially when the window has been through the stress of transport. Once the gas leaks out, you lose the insulating value and condensation builds up between the panes. The fix is simple: replace the entire window pane, not just the seal.

If you are shopping for new windows for a tiny home, look for ones rated for RV or manufactured housing use. These are designed to handle road vibration and temperature swings much better than standard residential windows. We have been happy with the replacements ever since.

In our Sarasota tiny home, a clear window makes a big difference. Oliver agrees.
